Liberty Elementary Responds to Sick-Out Rumors and District Concerns
In recent weeks, reports of potential student and teacher "sick-outs" have circulated within the Liberty Elementary School District (LESD). In response, district officials state that schools will operate as scheduled on February 3 and 4, with no anticipated disruptions.
LESD also addresses concerns about class sizes, stating the district maintains an average of 25 students per classroom, aligning with state norms. While acknowledging Arizona's teacher shortage, officials report only one current classroom vacancy, which is in the process of being filled.
Additionally, the district denies allegations of financial mismanagement, attributing a $2.5 million reduction in carryover funds to school construction and staff salary increases. LESD maintains its commitment to transparency and providing a stable learning environment.
